The process offers a cost effective, sustainable and environmental alternative to traditional methods.

The process is accepted by WRAP and the Environment Agency as the first choice when dealing with Tar Bound Material, allowing the material to be encapsulated in situ, removing the need for expensive landfill costs.

Allasso maximise the potential of the existing site materials by utilising the benefits of a full spectrum of binders; not solely relying on quick hydraulic binders such as OPC and OPC/PFA. This approach allows a bespoke, long-term solution to all pavement deterioration.

The Process

The process begins with a site investigation with trial holes to establish the existing pavement construction and subgrade quality. Samples are taken from the site to the laboratory, the material is tested and mix designs take place.

Using the results of laboratory investigations and other site data a design is reached. Once on site, the process begins with pulverisation to the required depth, the selected binders are added and then mixed with a number of passes of specialist equipment to ensure a homogenous mix.

The site is then graded and compacted to the required levels, with a curing membrane applied to the site prior to surfacing. Surfacing options are dependent on traffic loading and range from surface dressing to asphalt surfacing.

Throughout the process a UKAS accredited specialist laboratory technician is present, ensuring material quality and compaction are achieved. This quality control ensures that the finished pavement delivers a serviceable life in line with conventional reconstruction.
