Soil Stabilisation is a specialist process used as a sustainable alternative to the traditional practice of removing weak or unsuitable soils and importing granular fill materials.

We offer our clients full technical support from scheme feasibility through to end product testing, all provided by a team with market leading knowledge and experience. Soil stabilisation is a cost effective, sustainable method of treating weak or unsuitable soils in situ, eliminating the need for importing capping and sub base materials. The process provides a far superior alternative to unbound granular fill and Type 1 sub base layers with CBR values exceeding 100% readily achieved. The process is fully detailed and supported in the Specification for Highway Works.

We enable our clients to maximise the potential of the existing material and eliminating the need for costly and unsustainable disposal and import.

The Process

The process begins with initial site investigation with trial holes and samples taken from the site where laboratory testing of the material is conducted.
Using the results of the laboratory testing and other site data a design is reached according to the intended application and client specification.
Once on site the in situ construction process begins with the spreading of the binder(s), which is then followed by the binders being mixed with the soil to the required depth.
Finally the site is then graded and compacted to the required levels and a curing membrane applied.

Throughout the process a UKAS accredited specialist laboratory technician is present ensuring material quality, specification and compaction are achieved. End product testing confirms the specification has been achieved. This quality control ensures that the finished product provides the material and structural performance required.
Alternatively the process can be delivered ex situ using our mobile plants.
